Setting preferences allows you to define user and implementation settings. The refactoring preference allows you to specify how changes to links within a project are to be handled. When a resource in a project is moved or renamed, the refactoring preference determines how the links to that resource are updated.
To set the Refactoring preference:
From the Preferences navigator, select Refactoring. The Refactoring preferences window appears.
From the drop-list, select one of the following:

Ask |
The user is prompted to respond for each link. This allows the user to preview all of the changes before they are updated. Any problems resulting from the refactoring are reported. |

Never |
Updates are not made and the user is not prompted to make updates. |
|
Always |
All updates are made automatically without prompting the user. Any problems resulting from the refactoring are reported. |
Click Apply to make the changes or Restore Defaults to return to the original configuration.
Click OK.
The dialog box closes and the specified preference is set.
