Directory Service Problems

Views that require Directory Service login cannot be accessed after the user has logged in to the Directory

 

 

Problem

The following errors, either or both, can be generated after successfully logging in to Directory Services:

"Unable to create part: Server Explorer"

or

"Error retrieving information from Directory Service."

Resolution

 

These errors indicate that the connection to the Directory Services has failed, either because the Directory has been shut down or some other problem caused a disconnect. After a successful login, if the user attempts to work with endpoints in the Endpoint Manager or runtime instances in the Server Explorer, either or both of the errors can be generated. Because the Directory is shut down, the secure Endpoint Manager and Server Explorer cannot be accessed.

The Unwired Orchestrator tooling must be closed and reopened. The user will be prompted the login to the Directory when the tooling opens or when a view requiring login to Directory Services is opened or selected.
