If you have difficulty using Adaptive Server with transactionally enabled Microsoft MTS components and Microsoft DTC, make sure you:
Configure Adaptive Server for DTM.
Give the user dtm_tm_role.
Confirm that %SYBASE%\%SYBASE%_OCS\dll is in the system path and contains libxadtm.dll so it will be picked up by DTC.
If you change the system path, restart NT. In most situations the installation operation sets the system path correctly.
Set the ODBC DSN Distributed Transaction Support value under the Advanced tab to Native OLE.
If Adaptive Server is running on a platform other than NT, or if the XA interface is desired, make sure the ODBC DSN Distributed Transaction Support value under the Advanced tab is set to XA Protocol, the default value.
Confirm that the DTC service is running. Look for “MSDTC” in the “Services” Control Panel.
