If DirectConnect for Oracle was not configured at installation time, you can use the DCOConfig batch file to configure and start the server. The DCOConfig batch file can be found at %SYBASE%\DCO-12_6\install\DCOConfig. Before starting the configuration, the following should be available:
A copy of the existing tnsnames.ora file currently being used to connect to Oracle, which you will copy to a temporary file location
The Oracle connect string
The name for a valid Oracle account, which will be the administrator for DirectConnect for Oracle
The number of an unused port to be used by DirectConnect for Oracle
To invoke the configuration utility
Change directories to %SYBASE%\DCO-12_6\install.
Execute DCOConfig.
Enter the server name for DirectConnect for Oracle.
Enter an unused port on the machine that DirectConnect for Oracle will be listening on.
Enter a valid DirectConnect for Oracle Administrator Name.
Enter the Oracle connection string as previously defined in the tnsnames.ora file.
Enter the path (including the file name) to the previously defined temporary location of the tnsnames.ora file.
If you want DCOConfig to add this server as a Windows service, you must select “Y”.
If you are adding DirectConnect for Oracle as a Windows Service, you must enter a unique Windows Service name on the machine.
DirectConnect for Oracle is now started in a separate window. If the DirectConnect for Oracle is set up as a Windows Service, the machine must be rebooted, after running DCOConfig.
In the window where the DirectConnect for Oracle is
started, the following informational message appears. It appears
when the DirectConnect for Oracle is started from DCOConfig and
can be ignored.
