Two switches, -al and -vs, have been added to the Run Inbound Map windows to handle character checks for compliance maps. The -al switch disallows the use of high-order ASCII characters between 128 – 255 in EDI data, while the -vs switch disallows using either the ^ (circumflex) or the ' (accent grave) characters as data characters if the X12 version is before 4040. Prior to version 4040, even though these two characters were not permitted to be used as data characters, they were permitted to be used as delimiters.
