Password security [EDI 5.0]

Password security in EDI has been updated:

Passwords in all windows and dialog boxes in ECMAP and EC Gateway display either the encrypted form of the password or asterisks.
Maps and scripts store only encrypted passwords.
ECRTP and EC Gateway runtime decrypt all encrypted passwords prior to their use.
ECRTP does not write the DSN string and password to trace files.

Batch command files display asterisks in place of the DSN password.

The comment “DSN passwords are written as **** and must be entered with the correct password” will be added to the batch file.

Replace the asterisks in the batch file with the actual password before running the batch file.

You can now enter user IDs and passwords in separate User ID and Password fields instead of entering them as a plain text string in the Data Source Name field in ECMAP or EC Gateway.
