To start a server, your user account must have:
Windows NT administrator privileges, or you can use the default “sa” login
Access to the Adaptive Server distribution files
Access to a sql.ini file entry for the server
The system environment variables set as discussed in “Pre-installation tasks”
The installation program creates the sql.ini file and sets system environment variables when you install servers on your computer.
