Upgrading DirectConnect

To upgrade DirectConnect:

  1. Create a backup copy of the existing installation directory.

  2. Shut down all DirectConnect servers, including the servers running as a service on Windows.

  3. Install DI Suite 1.1 in the same installation directory as the version from which you are upgrading. For instructions on installing DI Suite, see “Installing DI Suite components”.

    NoteIn the case of DirectConnect for Oracle (DCO), if you intend to use the same server configurations as the existing one after upgrading, you need not run the DCOConfig script. This script needs to be run only when you define a new server.

  4. During installation, if the installer prompts you with a message that certain files already exists on the system and is newer than the file being installed, and asks you if you want to replace these files, select the No to All option and proceed with the installation.

  5. Make sure DirectConnect has been successfully installed. To check for valid installation, see “Check for a valid installation”.
