On Vista 64-bit platforms, PowerBuilder is installed by default into a directory for 32-bit programs. When you install PowerBuilder in the default directory and try to connect to Oracle from the PowerBuilder IDE, you might encounter the following error message: “ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified.” To avoid this error and enable connections to Oracle databases from the PowerBuilder IDE, you must make sure the ORACLE_HOME environment variable is set correctly.
