Performing concept-based searches

Verify that the DRE is running.

On UNIX, the PortalSearchqueryh process displays when you run:
```
ps -ef | grep Portal
```
On Windows, PortalSearchqueryh displays in the Task Manager.

The DRE starts automatically during the initial installation and configuration of Enterprise Portal. To restart the DRE, see “Starting the DRE”.
Index the files you want to search.

Use the automatic indexing utility to continually index files in the background—see “Automatic indexing”.
