To use the advanced search by proper name feature, documents containing proper names must be indexed in the DRE database. A proper name is defined as any two or more consecutive words that start with capital letters, such as “John E. Smith.”
Enabling searching by proper name
Stop the Autonomy services/processes. See “Starting and stopping the automatic indexing utility”.
Go to the PortalSearchqueryh.cfg or DRE.INI file located in:
$SYBASE/PortalSearch/Engine/PortalSearchqueryh.cfg or DRE.INI (UNIX)
%SYBASE%\PortalSearch\Engine\PortalSearchqueryh.cfg or DRE.INI (Windows)
With an ASCII text editor, add PROPERNAMES=1 in the [Server] section of the PortalSearchqueryh.cfg or DRE.INI file.
Start the Autonomy services/processes. See “Restarting the indexing utility”.
Index documents that have names in the DRE. Any two consecutive words that begin with uppercase letters are considered names. See “Automatic indexing”.
Do not use this functionality to index documents that
do not contain proper names.
