The DRE administration tool performs the indexing and administration tasks required by the DRE. The DRE must be running before you use the administration tool.
This tool is supplied with both Windows and UNIX, but you must run the executable from a Windows machine. If your Sybase installation is on UNIX, copy the $SYBASE/PortalSearch/Engine/<Windows directory> subdirectory from UNIX to Windows.

Starting the DRE administration tool
Select Start | Run.
Use the Windows Explorer to locate the executable in %SYBASE%\PortalSearch\Engine, then double-click guiadmin.exe to execute the program
To set the host and query port, click Change DRE Settings.
In the Change DRE Settings dialog box, enter:
Host Name or IP Address – machine where the DRE is running.
Query Port – the default is 8500.
Click OK. The DRE administration tool connects to the DRE, and the main window displays.
