Sybase RAP includes custom, express, and demonstration installation types. Use the following table to help decide what type of install is right for you:

Custom |
The custom installation is designed for production environments. This installation type provides the most flexibility in configuration, but also requires the most planning. It is intended for users that want complete control over configuration of the system (ports, IP addresses, tuning parameters, etc.). Express |
The express installation is designed for production environments. This installation type is intended for systems where default values for ports and tuning parameters are acceptable. To plan your express installation, see the section entitled “Express installation worksheets”. |
Demo |
The demonstration installation is designed to install a basic functional system on a single machine. This installation type requires no planning and is intended for demonstration systems. This installation type is not intended for production environments. |
