Shut down the Release 12.5 test system.
Recreate the older (current production) release test system.
Recreate the older environment, using your recreation scripts and procedures.
Load the older production system dumps.
Run dbcc commands (checktable, checkalloc, checkcatalog) on the older databases. Be sure to verify the dbcc log and error log.
Run checkpoint on the older release test system.
